Clinical research study
We are preparing a clinical study of Xialla, and looking for men to take part.
The study measures how well Xialla works over four weeks of ordinary use, using a standard questionnaire and a secure iPhone app. Men treated for prostate cancer are particularly encouraged to register.
- Before you start Consent and baseline You read the full study terms in the app and answer five questions about erectile function.
- Week 1 Your kit arrives Sized for you and sent once you have consented and been found eligible.
- Weeks 1–4 Use as you normally would On demand, no schedule to keep. Short comfort ratings after use.
- Week 4 The same five questions Plus questions on comfort, fit and satisfaction. The difference is what the study measures. Once these are in, a 40‑pack of adhesive pads is sent to you.
Who can take part
You may be eligible if
- You are a man aged 18 or over
- You have erectile dysfunction, diagnosed or self-identified
- You have an iPhone that can install apps
- You live in Canada or the United States, with a mailing address there
- You expect to be sexually active during the four weeks
Not a barrier
- Prostate surgery, radiation or hormone therapy
- Currently taking Viagra, Cialis or similar
- Having tried Xialla before
- Not having a partner — solo use counts
What taking part involves
Everything happens in a study app built on Apple ResearchKit, the framework used for large university and hospital studies. You give consent in the app, answer questions there, and your answers are stored under a random code rather than your name.
Total time is roughly 30 minutes across the whole four weeks.
What you receive
Participants are supplied with a new Xialla kit at no cost once consent is signed and eligibility confirmed, and a pack of 40 adhesive pads after the four‑week questionnaires are submitted. If you already own a Xialla, the study kit is yours to keep as a spare.
