Dr. Ernest Chan is a board-certified urologist and robotic surgeon who is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based urological care to patients across the Durham Region.

Dr. Chan completed his undergraduate education at McMaster University, followed by his medical degree and urology residency training at Western University. He then pursued a fellowship in robotic surgery at Credit Valley Hospital through the University of Toronto, where he developed advanced expertise in minimally invasive urological procedures.

During his residency, Dr. Chan was recognized by his peers as the Most Valuable Resident in the Division of Urology. He also received the inaugural Resident Award in Excellence in Educationfrom the Canadian Urological Association. He has authored 21 peer-reviewed articles, 34 scientific abstracts, and 2 essays. He has been the recipient of multiple research grants, and is a current site investigator for theProstate Cancer Patient Empowerment Program (PCPEP).
