Customer Tip: How to Reduce or Eliminate Irritation from Xialla Adhesive Patches
Many men tell us the Xialla rings work beautifully for them, but a small number experience mild skin irritation or itching for a few days after removing the adhesive pad.
One customer, Robert (not his real name), recently shared his experience and the simple solution that completely resolved the issue for him.
Robert's situation “I love the Xialla rings and they work beautifully for me. I have a problem, though, with the adhesive pad. After I remove the pad, for a few days I have irritation and itching where the pad was located. It is so bothersome I have found myself using other rings to change it up sometimes but I usually come back to Xialla.”
The suggestion that worked We recommended a tip from our founder’s brother (a retired physician): Apply a thin layer of 1% hydrocortisone cream (available over-the-counter at any pharmacy) to the clean, dry skin before placing the adhesive pad — allowing enough time for the cream to absorb so the pad still sticks well — and again immediately after removing the patch.
Robert decided to try both pre- and post-treatment. Here’s what he reported just a short time later:
“I tried the suggestion about pre and post treatment of the pad area with hydrocortisone cream and would like to report that it has made a huge difference. No more irritation from the pad, no itching, and it sticks just fine for me and then removal is much easier. I would say it’s a game changer for me.”
Practical tips for best results
- Use only a thin layer of 1% hydrocortisone cream.
- Let the cream fully absorb (a few minutes) before applying the pad so adhesion isn’t affected.
- If you’re unsure about pre-treating, start with the cream after patch removal only — many users find this is enough.
- Always apply to clean, dry skin.
- If you have very sensitive skin or any ongoing concerns, check with your healthcare provider first. This is a customer-reported tip, not medical advice.
This small adjustment has made a meaningful difference for Robert and may help others who experience similar sensitivity. We’re grateful to Robert for taking the time to report back so we can share it with the community.
