The Purpose of Xialla’s Anchoring Strap and Adhesive Pad
Many customers ask about the strap and adhesive component that comes with their Xialla device. It’s a thoughtful question — and understanding the “why” behind this part of the design helps you get the most from your device. Here’s a clear explanation of its purpose and why keeping the full system intact matters.
What is the anchoring strap and adhesive pad?
Xialla consists of a comfortable constriction ring that sits at the base of the penis, plus an integrated anchoring system: a discreet elastic band (the strap) that loops around the scrotum and secures with a simple tab-lock to a small, medical-grade adhesive pad. The pad is placed on clean, dry skin at the base of the spine / lower back area.
This creates a stable, gently tensioned loop that holds everything in its optimal position. The pads are single-use for hygiene and come with replacements so you always have what you need.
Why is the anchoring strap important? How is it different from other rings?
Standard constriction rings or ED bands work by compressing veins at the base of the penis. However, during movement or intercourse these rings often shift, roll forward, or lose their precise position. When that happens, the pressure on the veins becomes inconsistent and blood can escape more easily — reducing the ring’s effectiveness at managing venous leak.
Xialla’s patented anchoring mechanism solves this. The band and adhesive pad work together to gently draw the ring firmly toward the base of the penis and hold it securely against the scrotum. The ring stays exactly where it needs to be, even during vigorous activity. This stable positioning is what makes Xialla significantly more effective than ordinary rings at slowing blood outflow.
You can read more about the underlying mechanism in our article How Xialla Works to Correct Venous Leak.
What if I cut off the strap and just use the ring and the scrotum loop?
We understand the desire to simplify — but removing the anchoring strap would turn Xialla into a standard, unanchored constriction ring. Without the band and adhesive pad holding everything in place, the ring would be more free to move during use. This movement typically reduces consistent venous occlusion, leading to less reliable blood retention and weaker results overall.
The “two rings” (the penis ring and the scrotal loop) you see are part of the integrated system. They are designed to work together with the band. Cutting the strap removes the feature that gives Xialla its patented advantage.
Why keeping only the ring and scrotal loop doesn’t provide the best anchoring
It’s completely understandable to think: “If I remove the band that attaches to the adhesive pad but keep the ring around the penis and the loop around the scrotum, the loop will still hold the ring in place because it’s looped around the scrotum.”
Unfortunately, this doesn’t work as well as it might seem. Here’s the important mechanical reason:
The scrotum is not an independent or fixed anchor point. It is continuous with the skin of the penis. Penile skin is naturally mobile — it can slide forward and backward along the shaft with relatively little resistance. When the band that connects to the adhesive pad is removed, there is no longer a fixed external anchor holding the system rearward against the body.
As a result, any forward tension or movement (which occurs naturally during activity) simply pulls the scrotum forward. The ring and the scrotum move forward together as a single unit. The whole assembly can still migrate distally (lengthwise) along the penis. True, stable anchoring is lost.
This forward sliding directly undermines several of Xialla’s most important magical benefits — the ones that rely on consistent, body-fixed rearward tension:
- NeuroStretch — The gentle, sustained rearward pull that stretches the penile skin and stimulates stretch-sensitive nerves is no longer maintained. Without stable tension, this enhanced sensation benefit is significantly reduced. Learn more about NeuroStretch
- SensiExpose — The reliable exposure of the glans (the most sensitive part of the penis) depends on the ring and skin being held in a consistent rearward position. When the system can slide forward, this exposure is lost or inconsistent. Explore SensiExpose
- VisiLength — The visual lengthening effect created by drawing the scrotum rearward (exposing more of the penile shaft) disappears when the scrotum and ring are free to move forward together.
Only the complete anchoring system — the ring + scrotal loop + the band secured to the adhesive pad — creates a true fixed point of tension against the body. This is what prevents forward migration and allows the full range of magical benefits to work as designed.
How does the anchoring strap support Xialla’s magical benefits?
The stable positioning created by the anchoring system is the foundation for Xialla’s unique advantages — often called our “magical benefits.” Here’s how it connects:
- BloodLock — Consistent, non-shifting pressure on the veins allows for superior blood retention (up to 3× more effective than regular rings in our testing and design goals). Learn more about BloodLock
- NeuroStretch — The gentle rearward pull created by the anchored band stretches penile skin in a way that stimulates stretch-sensitive nerves, enhancing sensation. Read about NeuroStretch
- SensiExpose — Stable positioning helps keep the glans exposed for greater direct stimulation. Explore SensiExpose
- ThickenBoost — Reliable venous occlusion allows blood to engorge the outer tissues more effectively, supporting increased girth and firmness. See ThickenBoost
- EjacuSense — The band’s position can provide helpful perineal pressure that some men notice improves the sensation of ejaculation, especially after prostate procedures. Read about EjacuSense
The anchoring strap also contributes to comfort and other benefits by keeping the scrotum gently encompassed and preventing unwanted shifting. You can see the full overview in The Magical Benefits of Xialla.
Quick tips for best results with the adhesive and strap
Apply the adhesive pad to clean, dry skin. Follow the simple instructions included with your device for placement and tension. Most men find the system very comfortable once applied correctly.
